Cobbers Get Blanked for the First Time All Season, Lose 2-0 to Emhurst. 
ELMHURST, Ill.-- For the first time all season Concordia was shutout, as the Cobbers lost for the second straight game. Elmhurst (Ill.) scored a goal in each half and beat Concordia 2-0, sending the Cobbers home winless on their Illinois road trip.

Concordia did all they could to get a shot past Blue Jay goalkeeper Amy LeFurgy. The Cobbers peppered the Elmhurst net with 13 shots on goal and 25 total shots. Amy Ravenhorst (So., Hollandale, Minn./Albert Lea HS) and Morgan Bain (So., Hugo, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) led the Cobber offensive attack. Both players took a game-high six shots, but neither could find the back of the net. 

The Blue Jays made the most of their opportunities, scoring twice on free kick situations. Kelly Huson scored the first goal for Elmhurst when she headed home a goal at 28:02. Alison Jones finished the scoring in the game at 72:00. She was able to redirect the ball off of a free kick from outside the Cobber penalty area.

Elmhurst finished the game with 11 shots on net and 17 total attempts. Cobber goalie Ashley Liegakos (Fr., Maple Grove, Minn.) made nine saves in the losing effort. LeFurgy stonewalled all 13 of the Concordia shots she faced.

Concordia will finish off the regular season next week. The Cobbers will host Hamline on Wednesday, October 27 at 3:00pm, and then play at St. Ben's on Saturday, October 30 at 1:00pm. Concordia has already clinched a conference playoff spot. With one win in their final two games they can clinch a home playoff game in the semifinals of the MIAC tournament.
