ST. PAUL-- Natalie Hanson (Jr., Rogers, Minn./Elk River Area HS) put an exclamation mark on a breakout season, as she finished seventh at the MIAC championship cross country meet and earned All-Conference honors for the first time in her career.

As a team, Concordia finished eighth. It is the same place for the Cobbers as in 2003, but unlike last season, Concordia showed the promise of a bright future. Concordia finished with 197 points, as compared to 228 from a year ago. Marv Roeske's crew was less than 25 points away from sixth-place finisher Macalester. Last year, Concordia was more than 80 points out of sixth place.(More)

(RAPID CITY, S.D.)-- Concordia traveled into the Black Hills of South Dakota and came away with a lot more than Fool's Gold and breathtaking keepsake pictures.

The Cobbers placed second at the South Dakota Tech Invite and received solid performances from all seven of their top runners. Natalie Hanson (Sr., Rogers, Minn./Elk River Area HS)  continues to carry the torch of the team's #1 runner. Hanson, picking up where Lisa Owen left off in 2003, finished fifth in the individual standings. It is the first time in her career that she has posted a top-five finish in a mulit-team event. She has now finished in the top six in her first two events of the 2004 season.(More)

(COLLEGEVILLE)-- Despite losing their top runner from the 2003 season, the Concordia women's cross country team found success in their very first meet of 2004. The Cobbers used a "pack mentality" to place all seven runners in the top 20 place winners of the meet en route to finishing second as a team. Concordia finished the meet with 52 points. That was 32 behind St. Ben's, who claimed the team championship with 20 points.

Natalie Hanson (Rogers, Minn./Elk River Area HS) made an early bid to become the top Cobber runner in 2004. She finished the 5,000 meter course in 20:59 and placed a solid sixth in the individual standings. Hanson tracked down a runner from Concordia-St. Paul at the wire to vault to her sixth-place finish. Jennifer St. John (Sr., Billings, Mont./Billings West HS) supplied a pleasant surprise for head coach Marv Roeske in the opening meet of the year. St. John, free from the nagging injuries that bothered her in 2003, ran a 21:08 and placed 10th.(More)
