Game Recap - Box Score
Cobbers vs. Wildcats Game Recap

Second Period Offensive Explosion Keys Cobbers Win Over St. Kate's.
ST. PAUL-- The shot total was almost the same from Friday night, but the outcome was completely different as Concordia peppered St. Kate's for six goals and came away with a 6-2 victory over the Wildcats.

The Cobbers used a four-goal second period to win their first conference game of the season and up their overall record to 2-6-0. The four-goal period is more goals than Concordia had scored in any previous game in the entire season. With the loss, St. Kate's evens their MIAC record at 2-2-0 and slides to 2-5-0 overall.

On Friday night, Concordia put up 40 shots on Wildcat goalie Morgan Kane, but could only muster a single goal and lost 3-1. On Saturday, the Cobbers recorded 42 shots on goal but were able to score a season-high, six goals on Kane.

The biggest onslaught came in the second period. With the game tied at 1-1 after the first period, Concordia scored two goals in 39 seconds at the start of the second stanza to grab a 3-1 lead. After allowing a goal in the middle of the period, the Cobbers struck for two more quick goals towards the end of the frame. Brandie Dunn (So., Plano, Texas) scored at 14:23 to give Concordia a 4-2 lead and then Lindsay Czarnecki (Sr., Riverside, Calif.) tallied the second of her two goals in the game just 46 seconds later.

Czarnecki, the team leader in points (7), finished the game with two goals and an assist.

The Cobbers added one more goal in the third period. Kali Palmer (N.Richland Hills, Texas) picked up her first goal of the year when she beat Kane at 5:59.

Jamie Savage (Sr., Apple Valley, Minn.), making her second start of the season, stopped 18 shots to pick up her first win of the season. Kane ended the day with 36 saves.

Concordia amassed seven penalties in the game, while St. Kate's finished with nine minor penalties. The Cobbers were 3-for-6 on the power play and St. Kate's ended the day 3-for-5 in man-advantage situations.

The Cobbers will host another key MIAC series next weekend. Concordia will play St. Ben's on Saturday, December 11 at 2:00pm and then complete the two-game series on Sunday, December 12 at 2:00pm.
