Meet 9: at St. Mary's - April 3, Noon
Cobbers Finish Off Lost
Weekend By Getting Blanked by St. Mary's 9-0.
The Cobbers hung tight in the doubles matches but were only able to take one set in the singles matches, as they fell to 1-8 on the season. The 9-0 loss marks the fourth time this season that they have been shutout. St. Mary's picks up their second shutout on the year and moves to 4-4 overall. Annie Styba was the only Concordia singles player to scratch out a set win in the singles competition. Playing at the #2 spot, Styba won the first set 6-3 but then dropped the second set 7-5 and lost the super-set tiebreaker 10-6. Styba teamed with freshman Kelsey Schendel at the #1 doubles slot and lost 8-4 to Lisa Thompson and Ashley Meschke. The tightest doubles match came at the #3 position where Jami Winkelman and Sarah Fee dropped an 8-6 decision to the Cardinals' Ann Leeder and Aubrey Hirsch. Concordia will have another
pair of road conference matches next weekend. They will play at St. Ben's
on Saturday, April 9 at noon, and then travel to St. Paul to play Hamline
