After playing on the defensive line as a freshman, Joel earned a starting
spot on the offensive line last year as a sophomore. He is a former all-state
performer and Forum Fab 44 pick at South High School. He has also established
himself as one of the MIAC's top track and field weight men, placing third
in both the shot put and the hammer throw in May at the 1998
MIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
