9/6/97 Eric, playing as the Cobber nickel back,  had an interception to end the final Dragon drive in the Cobbers' 17-7 win over Moorhead State. 

Coach Jim Christopherson's 1997 pre-season Comments:

An important player in the Cobbers' nickel defense, Eric will be called on to play either free or strong safety as the situation demands.  One of the most dedicated players on the team, he has built himself into a very capable defender.
