Chapter 10-- The 90's

Looking Back

Many things have changed over the decades but one thing that has remained constant is the belief that athletics are an important part of the college.

Concordia has a long history of sports filled with excellent teams and many championships.  The individual athletes who have performed are the contributors to this legacy.  They, together with the coaches and support staff, have formed a tradition of excellence in Cobber athletics.

Concordia athletes are truly student athletes and they have furthered the mission of this college “by influencing the affairs of the world.”

It is interesting to note that just prior to the year 2000, the last four chairmen of the Board of Regents at Concordia have been involved in athletics.

As the next century begins, the athletes of this century will have a model legacy to follow.
