In 1945 the MIAC resumed scheduling football on a very limited basis. Under Coach Christiansen the Cobbers went 2 - 2 - 2 overall and 0 - 1 in the conference:

Richard Strand and Elwyn Nissen captained the team, which included Strand, Hoeger, Hvidston, Ness, Hallquist, Swanson, Otteson, Gessell, Nissen, Modin, Mattke, Nord, Bjelland, Rasmusson, Stenerson, Bale, Haugen, Johnson, Engelstad, Skaar, Teigen, Ringen and Moe. The probable starting lineup was:

The 1945-1946 basketball team posted an 11- 9 overall record, 3 - 6 in the MIAC for sixth place. The highlight of the season was winning the Red River Valley Christmas tournament at the University of North Dakota. Concordia defeated Valley City 51 - 23 and in the championship game, eked out a 44 -43 win over UND. The season's results were:

The roster included Captain Paul Swanson, Hoeger, Bjelland, Zander, Braake, Hvidston, Gessell, A. Johnson, Bohn, Grinaker, Swanson, Ness and Mattke.

The Concordian reported that the student body gave $994 toward the development of the new athletic field. Ten thousand dollars is needed for the project. It is expected that the alumni will contribute $8,000. The Lettermen's Club is conducting a campaign to raise the remaining amount from the student body.(11)

In 1946 baseball returned to the Concordia campus. Coached by Bill Mattke, who had played for the Grand Forks Chiefs of the Northern League, the Cobbers won two out of three games.

The lineup included Mattke, Teigen, Hagen, Bohn, Nelson, Sandness, Nyklemoe, Johnson, Fuglestad and Solheim.

Representing Concordia in tennis were Amon Johnson, Ralph Rygg, Ron Johnson, Bernie Allen and Tenner Thompson. Results of their matches were:

The golf team was composed of Don Hanson, Murrae Freng, Finn Grinaker and Orel Vangen. Cy Running was the team's coach. The team won two of three matches with MSTC.
