Greg Dean was named to the All-MIAC team today by the MIAC coaches. He was also named for a second time to the MIAC's All-Defensive team. He is 2nd in the nation in steals with 5.3 per game and led the MIAC in assists with 6.25 per game. He has the school record for career steals with 307. His 126 steals this year broke the single season steal record he set last year at 108.

Dean also ended with 446 career assists, believed to be the second best Cobber career total behind the 478 posted by Dale Moe.

He finished 3rd in MIAC FG% standings in 1996-97, making 58.2% of his shots.

Pre-Season Preview: 10/15/96

1996-97 will be Greg Dean's third year as the Cobbers' starting point guard.

He was named to the MIAC All-Defensive team in 1995-96 as he set school records for steals in a season ( 108), steals in a career (181 total for the the past two seasons) and steals in a game (11 at St. John's Feb. 3, 1996)

He finished second in the MIAC in assists with 7.45 per game. In the final 1995-96 NCAA Division III national stats, Dean ranked 5th in steals and 12th in assists. His 306 career assists put him within reach of Dale Moe's Cobber career record of 478 (1981-84).
