Fall Wrap Up 

The Menâs Golf team, under new head coach Mark Johnson, recorded 5 top-5 finishes in their six fall events, including a 2nd at the 20-team Erv Kaiser Invitational in Fargo and a 4th at the 21 team Twin Cities Classic. 

The Cobbers were led by 2-time All-MIAC performer Brandon Riddering (â99, Maple Grove).  Riddering led Menâs Golf  in scoring for the third consecutive year and earned his second consecutive All-MIAC award as the Cobbers posted their best regular season in two decades. 

Cobber sophomore Kyle Newman ('00, Fargo) earned academic Academic All-MIAC  honors. 

10/4 Cobbers finish 5th at MIAC.  Riddering repeats as all-MIAC, ties for 7th at 151. 

10/3 Cobbers 14 shots back, alone in 5th after first day of MIAC Championship 

9/30 Cobbers 4th at  21 team Gustavus Twin Cities Invitational. Riddering ties for 6th. This is the best finish ever by the Cobbers in this significant regional event.  (See complete results) 

9/20  Cobbers  rally for 3rd at  UND Invitational

9/14 Cobbers  take second in 20-team Kaiser Tourney, Riddering  ties for 5th with 146 two-day total. 

9/8 Riddering's  153 Leads Cobbers at Bemidji State Invitational

9/6/97 Cobber Men place second in Concordia Invitational, Riddering fires 73

The Cobber men took second today in the one-day Concordia Invitational at the Meadows in Moorhead. UND captured the title with a 291, followed by the Cobbers at 300, NDSU at 301 and the Concordia second team at 325.   Brandon Riddering led the Cobbers with a 73 and freshman J.J. Rassmussen tacked on a 74.

Greg Melhus of UND took medalist honors with a 69, followed by Jay Bartley of NDSU. Riddering's 73 gave him a tie for third place in the individual competition.

Other Cobbers on the first team were Seth Johnson (76), Jeremy Anderson (77), and Tyler Fitzel (80). The Cobbers will take part in the Bemidji State Open Sept 7-8. (See Complete Results)
