11/10 Cobbers Claim 13th at Central Region Meet.

10/27 Cobbers Finish 8th at MIAC Championships.
The Cobber men finished 8th at the MIAC Cross Country Championship Meet, only  21 points out of 6th place.  Concordia entered the meet seeded 9th out of the of 11 teams. 

The Cobbers were led by first year runner Nick Myran (West Concord, Minn.) who finished 38th in 27:22.  Senior Jason Karls (Sr., Billings, Mont.)was close behind in 41st with a solid race of 27:25.  The team's number one runner, Kirk Nelson (Jr., Hettinger, N.Dak.), battled through a side cramp   and finished 63rd in a time of 28:05, while top four runner Jim Monson (Jr., Maple Plain, Minn.) battled illness during the week and finished 88th in a time of 28:40. Nathan Stoa (Jr., Fargo, N.Dak.) rounded out the top 5 runners in 86th in 28:39. The race of the day was run by senior co-captain Scott Chastek (Glencoe, Minn.) who was the teamâs number eight runner racing to an all time MIAC course best of 29:52.

Concordia competes in the NCAA Division III Central Region Championship in Grinnell, Iowa November 10th.  The Cobbers hope to return senior co-captain Dave Dahlseng (Cyrus, Minn.) to the line-up for Regionals.  Dahlseng sat out the MIAC Championships due to knee tendonitis.

10/12 Concordia Wins Cobber Invitational.

Finished second at the Cobber Invitational, leading the Cobbers to the team title. 

The Cobber men ran over MSU-Moorhead and NDSCS at the Cobber Invitational at Village Green Golf Course, winning with a commanding 18 point lead over the second place Dragons.  Joe Lynch of MSU-Moorhead won the event in 27:32, followed closely by a pair of Cobbers. Junior Kirk Nelson (Jr., Hettinger, N.Dak.) was second at 27:41 and first year runner Nick Myran (West Concord, Minn.) finished third at 27:47. 

Senior Co-Captain Dave Dahlseng (Cyrus, Minn.) continues to come back from a year of chronic knee tendonitis running his best race in three years, finishing fifth in a time of 28:05. Jason Karls (Sr., Billings, Mont.) and Jim Monson (Jr., Maple Plain, Minn.) rounded out the Cobber top five finishing seventh and ninth, with times of 28:15 and 28:25 respectively.

Concordia competes against St. Johnâs on Friday, October 19 in a 2.5 mile race which leads up to the MIAC Championship on Saturday, October
27.

8/31 Cobbers Fall in Opening Dual Meet to Jamestown 25-32.
Concordia opened the 2001 cross country season by falling to Jamestown. Last year the Cobbers defeated the Jimmies by a similar margin of 23-32. The dual meet record between the two schools now stands at 1-1.

The top runner for Concordia was Jim Monson (Jr., Maple Plain, Minn.), finishing in 3rd with a time of 28:50.3.  Close behind were teammates Jason Karls (Sr., Billings, Mont.) and Kirk Nelson (Sr., Hettinger, N.Dak.) in 29:03.6 and 29:14.8 respectively.  Freshman Nick Myran (West Concord, Minn.) and senior captain Dave Dahlseng (Cyrus, MN/Morris HS) were the team's 4th and 5th runners in 29:30.8 and 30:04.5. 

Concordia travels to the University of North Dakota Invitational in two weeks to compete against NCAA Division II foes NDSU and UND and a host of tough NAIA competition.
