John, originally from Audubon, Penn., joined the Concordia coaching staff in 1999.  He is currently the pitching coach for the Cobbers.

He graduated from the University of Richmond in 1996 with a double major in Finance and Economics.  Was voted top Scholar Athlete of the Business School in 1996.  Was voted a University of Richmond and Colonial Conference Scholar for mainting a 3.0 GPA for 4 years of college.

Played 4 years of varsity Baseball.  Carreer record of 14-11.  Finished 10-4 in 1995, 1 win away from school record.  Led team in apperances the last 2 years and finished second in carreer apperances at Richmond.

Before attending Richmond he graduated from Malvern Prep in Pennsylvania in 1992.  Lettered in soccer, basketball and baseball for three years.  Captain of all three sports senior year. First Team All-InterAc and team MVP in Soccer,  Inter Ac all star in Basketball and First Team All Inter Ac and league MVP in Baseball.  Also received Career-First Honor in high school for having higher than a 3.5 GPA.

John was signed by the Boston Red Sox on June 12, 1996 as a non-drafted free agent.  He played in Lowell, Massachusetts for the Lowell Spinners, and finished with a 3-4 record and led the team in appearances with 29 in 72 games.  He holds the Lowell all-time record for appearances in a season and in a career.

After playing for the Spinners he wen on to play independent baseball from 1997-2002 for the Thunder Bay Whiskey Jacks, Allentown Ambassadors, Atlantic City Surf, Bridgeport Bluefish, Somerset Patriots,  and Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks.

He had his best season in 1999 while playing for the Redhawks, going 2-0 and not allowing a run in 18 games.  In 16.2 innings allowed only 9 hits, as oppsing batter hit only .182.
