MIAC Women's Basketball Tournament History

The six-team MIAC Women's Basketball Tournament was initiated in 2000 for the 2000-01 season. It is a showcase for one of the premier Division III conferences in the country. Every year there is a fierce battle during the regular season to see not only who can win the MIAC title, but also who can finish among the top six in the league and qualify for the tournament. The tournament winner gets the league's automatic NCAA bid.

Carleton won the inaugural MIAC Women's Basketball Tournament in 2001 when they defeated St. Thomas 61-58.
