Nathan Reiff came back to win three matches in the consolation bracket before losing 10-5 in the 174 consolation semifinals. He then came back to beat Peter Rapps, (Montclair St.) 7-5 in the 7th place match and earn All-America Honors. He was also named to the wrestling coaches' Scholastic All America team.

Nathan Reiff  (167) lost his second  round NCAA match March 6 in Waterloo after getting a bye in the first round.

Reiff  lost 2-0 to Jason Dell (Gettysburg) and then lost 3-1 in overtime to Joel Andrew (Wisconsin Steven's Point) in the consolation bracket. Reiff ended the year with a 16-8 record against wrestlers from 4-year schools.

Nathan was one of the 1997-98 Cobber co-captains. He qualified for the 1998 NCAA Meet after finishing 3rd at 167 in the MIAC.

He qualified for the 1996 NCAA Division III National Meet with a 2nd place finish in the MIAC Meet at 177 lbs. He is a former Montana state champion.

Nathan won the 1997 MIAC title at 177 and earned a second consecutive trip to the NCAA Division III Championships.

The 1996-97 Cobber wrestling team was led by sophomore Nathan Reiff ('99 Whitehall, Mont.). Reiff won the MIAC title at 177 lbs., advanced to the NCAA National Tournament for the second consecutive year and compiled a 21-10 record.

Reiff, a sophomore from Whitehall, MT, also earned recognition as a member of the Scholastic All-American Team, an award presented by the American Wrestling Coaches Association to outstanding wrestling student athletes.
