1987 Cobber Women's Soccer

Women's soccer

The women's soccer team posted a 4-8 record this fall. According to Coach Steve Baumgartner, the young team has a lot of potential for the future if additional depth can be obtained through this year's recruiting efforts.

Freshman Sara Pittorf, Burnsville, Minn., scored nine goals and was the Cobber's chief offensive threat. Senior Jill Collier, St. James, Minn., played sweeper, center striker and center midfielder, and proved to be an excellent all-around player. Dawn Kilgard, senior stopper from Golden Valley, Minn., showed outstanding defensive play throughout the season, Baumgartner said.
