Connie Kirchoffner 

Connie Kirchoffner served as Concordia's head swimming coach from 1996 to June of 1999. She was succeeded by Julie Lucier

She became Concordia's first women's swimming and diving coach in the fall of 1996. Her 1997-98 team, in just its second year as a varsity program, finished 6th in the 10-team MIAC, led by its first MIAC champion, Shana Letness in the 100 yd. breaststroke.

Connie received her B.S. degree from Moorhead State in 1975, with majors in Physical education and Health. Connie earned her Masters in Education in 1997, with a specialization in Athletic Administration, at North Dakota State University. 

As head swimming coach at Moorhead High, Kirchoffner coached four state qualifiers to the first girls Minnesota State Swimming Championships in 1976. Connie spent 17 years, 1976-1993, at Mandan High School as a Physical Education/Health teacher and Head Girl's Swimming and Diving Coach. Her teams were the North Dakota Champions for four consecutive years (1989-1992). She had two junior national finalists and a senior national qualifier in two events. She was the 1982 North Dakota high school girls swimming Coach of the Year.

As the Head Girls Swimming Coach at Smoky Hill's High in Aurora, Colorado from 1993-1995, her teams won the 1994 State Championship, placed third in '95 and was ranked 8th nationally in 1994. Her teams set state records in the 100 yd. backstroke and the 400 yd. freestyle relay.She has coached a total of 23 High School All- Americans.

Connie has also coached at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs at two United States Swimming Select Camps. She served as camp director at the 1992 girls Eagle Camp and as an assistant coach at the 1991 Girls Gold Camp. 

She also has coached at two United States National Zone Distance Camps. She was an assistant coach at the 1996 Zone Distance Camp at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and the 1991 ZoneDistance Camp at the Federal Way Pool in Seattle.
