Natalie Hanson (Rogers, Minn./Elk River Area HS) made an early bid to become the top Cobber runner in 2004. She finished the 5,000 meter course in 20:59 and placed a solid sixth in the individual standings. Hanson tracked down a runner from Concordia-St. Paul at the wire to vault to her sixth-place finish. Jennifer St. John (Sr., Billings, Mont./Billings West HS) supplied a pleasant surprise for head coach Marv Roeske in the opening meet of the year.
