Meet Recap:

MOORHEAD, Minn. (2/6/10)-- For the third consecutive Cobber Duals Meet, Concordia finished in the top 3 and came away with several outstanding individual and relay performances. The Cobbers finished 4-2 at the duals meet on Saturday and finished in third place. CC beat teams from Minot State, UM-Morris, NDSU and Jamestown and fell to meet champion Dickinson State and cross-town rival MSU Moorhead.

For the second straight Saturday Concordia junior Tom Sederquist sped away to a win in one of the distance races. Last week he won the 5000 meters at the Cobber Open and on Saturday he claimed the title in the 3000 meters. Sederquist raced to an 8:52.81 and was the only athlete in the event to finish under the 9-minute mark. His time in the 3000 meters is the seventh best in the conference this season and he holds the top time in MIAC in the 5000 meters.

Sederquist also finished third in the mile at the Duals Meet. He posted a time of 4:25.56 which is only .38 tenths of a second behind his season best from last year.

The other Cobber top highlight on Saturday was the performance of the 4x200-meter relay team. The quartet of Jason Sather, Tom Mammen, John Bye and Luke Hvidston recorded a time of 92.87 which is the seventh fastest in program history.

Concordia freshman Seth Lage put up a distance of 20-03.00 in the long jump and finished third. He was just in front of teammate Hvidston who had a final mark of 19-09.75.

The other top 5 finishes for the Cobbers were turned in by Paul Lillehaugen in the 1000 meters and David Haugen in the 800 meters. Lillehaugen finished fourth in the 1000 meters in a time of 2:43.53 and Haugen was fifth in the 800 meters with a mark of 2:01.96.
