(2/26/10)-- Concordia finished their preparation for the upcoming MIAC Championship Meet by competing in the St. Olaf Qualifier in Northfield on Friday. The Cobbers had four different school all-time best marks and seven top 10 finishes at the meet in their final competition before the annual indoor conference meet.
Mammen also clocked a time of 6.71 in the 55-meter dash and finished seventh. That time is a personal best for Mammen and he has now lowered his time in the 55 meters in each of the five meets this season. Mammen's final time ties for the ninth best in school history and marks only the third time in the last 10 years that a CC athlete has run a sub 6.75 55 meters. The other Cobber top 10 marks were turned in by Jason Sather and Tom Sederquist. Sather ran a 23.53 in the 200 meters and finished 10th in the event. Sather's time is the 10th fastest in school history and is also a personal best. Sederquist, who was sick all week, battled his way to a 2:33.40 in the 1000 meters and was fourth at the meet. His time is the seventh best in school history and fastest since 2005. David Haugen, Troy Henne and freshman Charlie Alvarez rounded out the remaining top 10 finishes for Concordia. Haugen ran a 1:16.80 in the 600-yard dash and finished sixth. That mark is a season best for Haugen. Henne was 10th in the 400 meters and has now posted a top 15 finish in all five meets this season. Henne's finishing time of 53.39 was a season best. Alvarez was the lone Cobber field athlete to finish in the top 10 at St. Olaf. He cleared a height of 12-04.75 in the pole vault and finished sixth. Concordia will try and put it all together for the MIAC Championship Meet on Mar. 5-6 at Carleton College in Northfield.
