Meet Recap:

NORTHFIELD, Minn. (2/26/10)-- Concordia started off the school's spring break with a meet and they finished off the break by competing in their final competition before the MIAC Championship Meet. The Cobbers went south for break and participated in the St. Olaf Qualifier on Friday in Northfield. Concordia posted 14 top 10 finishes at the meet as they get in conference meet shape.

Cobber sophomore Tatijana MullerDahlberg continues to impress in only her second season of college track and field. MullerDahlberg had a pair of top 10 finishes on Friday and claimed the only event win for CC. She recorded a time of 7.53 in the finals of the 55-meter dash and finished fifth in the event. That time is a season best and ties for the fourth fastest in school history. Last week at the CSB Quadrangular she ran a 7.59 which was her previous season best.

MullerDahlberg won a triple jump event for the fourth time this season. She recorded a distance of 36-00.00 to win at St. Olaf which was the fifth consecutive week she has recorded a distance of at least 36-00.00 in the event. She currently has the top mark in the MIAC this season with a jump of 36-11.00 which she set at the Cobber Open.

Senior Tara Ray also continues to enjoy success in her final year of indoor competition. Ray had a trio of top 5 finishes at the St. Olaf Qualifier. She was runner-up in the high jump with a height of 4-10.50, finished third in the long jump with a distance of 16-05.00 and placed fifth in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.18. Her time in the 55-meter hurdles is a personal best.

Emily Davis finished fourth in the weight throw in a field that will be almost identical at the MIAC Meet. Davis' best toss on Friday was 48-04.25. She has now finished in the top six of the weight throw in all five meets of the 201 season.

Concordia junior distance runner Hailey Brenden used the Qualifier to get back into meet shape as she finished third in the 3000 meters. Brenden, who has been nursing an injury this season, ran an 11:04.65 which is a season best.

Freshman Elisabeth Hanson ran a personal best time of 3:18.01 in the 1000 meters and finished seventh. Joining Hanson in the top 10 at the meet were Kristy Singlestad who finished fifth in the 3000 meters (11:15.55), Kari Ludwig and Stacey Sellner in the triple jump, Kristen Warren and Larissa Hansmeier in the shot put and Macey Bentley in the high jump. Ludwig's jump of 30-07 in the triple jump was a personal best as were Hansemier's mark of 37-06.50 in the shot put and Bentley's height of 4-06.75 in the high.

The Cobbers will hope to continue their success at the MIAC Meet next weekend. Concordia has posted two straight top five finishes at the conference indoor meet and will be looking for their third straight at Carleton College on Mar. 5-6.
