(11/21/09)-- You'll have to pardon Cobber head coach Julie Lucier if she wants to schedule the Macalester Invite for the entire season. It must be something in the Scots' pool as Concordia has made a habit out of putting their best results of the season together at the annual meet. On Saturday the Cobbers posted a final team score of 348 points and finished in second place. It was the third straight runner-up finish at the Macalester Invite for Concordia. The biggest individual news for the Cobbers came from junior dive Lauren Trudeau who scored 225.80 points in the 1-meter diving competition and broke the meet record. The event was the first of the day and set the tone for the Cobbers from the rest meet. Trudeau also finished second in the 3-meter event with 211.50 points. The Concordia diving team had a stellar meet as they posted seven top 5 finishes in the two events and came away with 118 team points. Besides Trudeau, Amy Glubzinski finished third in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events and Kira Hausauer, Molly Hansvick and Mary Kate Kelly all had top 5 finishes in the two events. The top individual swimmer for Concordia was junior Katie Coleman who recorded a pair of top 3 finishes. She swam an 11:40.94 in the 1000-yard freestyle and finished second. She also finished third in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:20.99 Aleina Weisz had two top 5 finishes. She was right behind Coleman in the 200-yard backstroke and finished fifth with a mark of 2:26.54. She was also fifth in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:07.07.
