MOORHEAD, Minn. (1/30/10)-- Kit Hollway picked the perfect time to collect the first multiple-goal game of her collegiate career as she scored both Cobber goals in a 2-1 win over St. Ben's in Moorhead on Saturday. The win gives Concordia three points for the weekend and keeps them unbeaten in their last six games. Concordia is 10-6-1 in all games and 5-4-1 in the MIAC. The Cobbers have 11 league points and are currently tied for fifth place in the conference standings. Hollway entered the game with only three goals on the year but almost doubled that total when she scored an even-strength goal in the first period and a power play tally in the third frame. The goal at 11:05 of the final period proved to be the game winner and helped erase a sour taste from the night before when the Cobbers outshot the Blazers 52-31 but skated to a 4-4 overtime tie. On Saturday Concordia outshot St. Ben's 41-26. For the weekend the Cobbers racked up 93 total shots but only came away with six goals. Concordia turned to senior goalie Maddie Haroldson to pick up the key conference win. Haroldson did not disappoint as she turned aside 25 shots and earned her fourth win of the season. St. Ben's (2-12-3/0-7-3 MIAC) goalie Lauren Herzog made 39 saves for the game. On the weekend, Herzog stopped 87 of the 93 shots she faced. The Cobbers will stay at home and square off against Gustavus next weekend in a two-game series on Friday, Feb. 5 and Saturday, Feb 6. The Gusties are 6-3-1 in the conference and in third place. Both games will be played at the Moorhead Sports Center.
